Silas Marner - Mary Ann Evans

Why should a classic begin with such dreadful descriptions? If  you can plough through the first 3 pages of this classic , the rest will be a smooth slide. Mary Ann Evans uses a male pen name - George Elliot - to be taken seriously and to escape from the women writers' cliches. But still her third novel 'Silas Marner' is quite a heartwarming and emotional tale. Painted in a beautiful rural Victorian backdrop, it's all about love n hope; a fantastic treat for a romantic heart. Relish.
